Just consider, if you will, the plight of the Backwoods Railroad. Everything was saved, all that wonderful glorious junk! The scene's we love so much were created prototypically out of necessity. Re-created here for your modeling pleasure. I mean that's the reason we enjoy O Scale so much. Shays and Climaxes threading their way through big stands of trees...
just waiting for the loggers axe to fall.
The O Scale Tool Shed is part of the Deer Creek Land & Timber Company. Loaded with that classic SierraWest feel, scene creation is the focus here. Just look at the great presentation that is made with the junk and clutter on all four sides. New castings created especially for this kit are central to the storytelling theme. I make and cast my own details in resin and white metal for the utmost crispness, quality, originality, and value. Masters are made and castings selected from my vast library to tell a specific story. These are details you will only find in a SierraWest kit. Over 70 detail castings are included...
As you follow the pictures around the little shed it becomes evident that the details literally envelope the structure. Three main scenes are created. The shed's platform, the gas tank and pump, and the side yard. They blend and flow together naturally for a prototypical appearance. Study the photographs carefully and take it all in. The diorama itself is 10" x 12" with the shed and three scenes mentioned occupying an area of only 6" x 7".
As mentioned, over 70 details come with the Tool Shed including the Gilmore Wayne gas pump and elevated riveted tank, cluttered shelves, locker, coal bin, empty crates, oil cans, drums, barrels, tools, blocks, assorted wheels, tanks, cylinder head, hydraulic pump, cans, bottles, well you get the idea. All the details pictured.
The shed is a laser cut wood frame so you can spend your time weathering and adding the siding. Comprehensive instructions are included detailing every step of board on board modeling from the coloring and weathering to the tools and tips/tricks used to create realistic walls as pictured. I present clinics all over the country on this very subject. I know exactly what you want to learn and how best to present it. I have refined these techniques over many years - they're worth the price of the kit alone!
So what else is in the box? Laser cut jigs are a hallmark of SierraWest kits, first used and created here. You receive several laser cut jigs that insure accurate tight rafters and wonderful wooden palettes. You cut and weather the wood then use the jig for a foolproof assembly. No laser cut palettes with scorch marks... The doors are made of stripwood to match the siding perfectly. More jigs are included to cut the bracing effortlessly with 100% accuracy. The results speak for themselves. Laser cut windows and acetate, color signs, tarpaper, chain, accurate templates, and our famous spiral bound instructions are also enclosed.

What is a “Special Order” kit?
These are older kits that I do not make often. Instead of paying in full for this kit, you simply make a $50 non-refundable deposit with the balance due when your kit is ready to ship. If you would like to reserve this kit simply check out like normal and pay the $50 plus a small shipping fee. (This is a bookkeeping thing.) Once your kit is ready I will send an email with further instructions. Kits usually take about 90-120 days to ready for shipment.
